Dana Peterson
Catering Services Director
Dana launched her career with Aramark in 2014 through the prestigious Accelerate to Leadership (A2L) program, stepping into the role of Catering & Premium Services Manager at Citizens Bank Park. Following the successful completion of the yearlong program, she transitioned into Aramark’s healthcare division, taking on the role of Catering Manager at the renowned Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
After two impactful years, Dana embraced a new challenge—leading the renovation and grand re-opening of a retail café, showcasing her ability to drive innovation and elevate guest experiences. Her journey in Collegiate Hospitality began at Rutgers University–Camden, followed by a move to Temple University, and ultimately brought her to Drexel University in July 2022, where she continues to make her mark.
Dana holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Florida, with a major in marketing and minors in entrepreneurship and Spanish. Her diverse background and passion for hospitality have made her a dynamic leader committed to excellence and continuous growth.
Chef Matt McMillan
Catering Chef
Matt McMillan is a seasoned culinary professional with over two decades of experience in the food and hospitality industry. His journey began with a deep-rooted passion for food, inspired by family traditions and early exposure to cooking. The first professional role was as a prep cook at a retirement home in Norfolk, VA, laying the foundation for a career built on dedication and skill.
Matt went on to join Fort Dix, where he prepared meals for over 1,000 soldiers per service period. Over four years, he advanced from line cook to Head Cook, earning ServSafe certification and city ordinance credentials while thriving in a high-volume, high-pressure environment.
He pursued formal culinary education at the Art Institute and gained hands-on experience in several Philadelphia restaurants. Matt then spent seven years as Department Manager at Fresh Grocer, overseeing Hot Food, Deli, and Bakery operations. During this time, he opened five new stores and drove record-breaking revenue, supported by certifications across multiple business areas.
Since joining Drexel University, Matt has held the dual roles of Sous Chef for the Catering Department and Residential Dining Chef Manager for 11 years. He has led culinary efforts for major Philadelphia events, including the Made in America VIP Lounge, the launch of Food Truck Alley at the Philadelphia Zoo, Wawa’s Fourth of July celebration, and catering for Mayor Jim Kenney, his staff, and the School District of Philadelphia.
Matt holds certifications in ServSafe, Department of Health standards, and Pro Chef credentials. Known for his creativity, composure under pressure, and commitment to excellence, he brings both artistry and precision to every culinary experience.

To place an order, contact our catering office at cad@drexel.edu. Whenever possible, all catering orders should be placed 14 business days prior to your event. While we make every effort to accompany last minute orders, we cannot guarantee your first choice selections can be fulfilled.
